At our AGM on Sunday 7th March 2010 three speakers from Stourbridge SC were successful and will go on to the National Finals. The winners were:

Speaker of the Year 2010

The annual Speaker of the Year Dinner will be held this year in the Midland District. The Speaker of the Year is to be Nick Owen and the event will take place on Saturday November 6th 2010.

Nick Owen is currently the main presenter on the regional news programme BBC Midlands Today.
Nick has worked in regional and national TV since the late Seventies. He came to national prominence in 1983 as one of the first faces to appear on breakfast television in Britain.
Nick moved to BBC One to co-present the popular Good Morning with Anne and Nick from 1992 until May 1996 – a total of 600 programmes. In 2006, he was awarded the Baird Medal by the Royal Television Society.
Nick’s chosen charity is St Mary’s Hospice, Selly Oak, Birmingham.
